SO
Electrical equipment with a voltage rating of 11 KV and above comes under the testing scope of the Power Equipment Testing (PET). PET ensures the healthiness of each power equipment in our power houses and substations which is of utmost importance. Testing standards are also to be met. It is essential to ensure that the test results are within the limits of the standards when each new equipment is added or old ones are repaired and used. Periodically checking the health of in-service equipment is essential to reduce its failure rate. The tests are mainly divided into three by pre-commissioning/re-commissioning tests, routine testing or condition monitoring and troubleshooting tests.
